• Open each individual image or the collected photos your group took.
• Once you have a body part you would like to use open, you will copy this image into your document. by following the steps below:
- Edit > Select All (or keyboard shortcut command+A)
- Edit > Copy (command+C)
- click on the empty document tab that you are creating your character in and Edit > Paste (command+V)
- the image will now be pasted into the empty document, and it will look huge, so we will need to resize it. Edit >Transform (command+T)
- click and drag the corner into the middle to make the pasted image smaller, while doing this hold down the shift button on the keyboard so that the proportions of your images remain the same; let go of the mouse when you are happy with the size and then let go of the shift button. You may need to do this a few times to make things fit.
- Notice that the pasted item is in a new layer. You can rename the layer by double clicking the Layer name and rename it as the body part it represents to know what layer is what. You can go into any layer to modify at any time.
- Once you have all your items placed into layers, assemble the face of your character and edit the layers as needed using the eraser tool or any other tool you see fit.
- You might experience colour shifts or exposure shifts in the various shots. If you need help correcting these, let me know and I can show you have to make the necessary changes depending on what looks best.
- Once you have completed your portrait save your file as NewKid_YOURLASTNAME.psd and upload to the server. You should also post your image or images if you have various versions, to your ePortfolio.
