Assignment 3.1.1: Animation Story
No that you have created a character and learned the basics of the Flash Animation application, you are ready to create your first animation.
For this assignment you will create a short animation that will introduce your first character as they walk into the scene on a background. The background can be your creation or a pre-created background that you might have found online through a Google search of BACKGROUND IMAGES. You will also need to include a foreground in the scene. The foreground will help create some dimension to your two dimensional environment. Your character can be the same character you created from the Activity. You will introduce a new character (a person, animal, or object). The second scene of your animation is where this new character will be introduced with a new background added to show the scene change. How the two characters interact is up to you, however it should have some story of make sense of what is happening. The length of the scenes will be a minimum of 30 seconds. Additional scenes can be added and the length of these additional scenes is totally up to you. So in the end the whole animation will be 60 seconds minimum in length with a minimum of two scenes.
You can search Google for characters to use. Search for 2D Character Animation Poses. The image you find will be the reference to create your character. It is best to use a pencil style sketch opposed to a pre-created image of a character, as previous learned in the Activity.
Your animation should not depict any form of violence, bullying, killing, guns, etc.; please use your best judgement or ask me before proceeding. Animations that show any signs of this will receive a mark of zero.
Sound, or any other effects are optional, as well as additional characters, object, and backgrounds. If you do decide to add any extras, it shows that you have put forth a greater effort when it comes to your evaluation.
I have included tutorials on how to do the walk cycle using the bone tool for those that are interested to investigate.
When you have finished your animation. Export your file under FILE> EXPORT and use the SWF file output. You should also submit your original working Flash file(.FLA). You will be able to post your .SWF file to your ePortfolio site. When submitting your files, rename them as ANISTORY.YOURLASTNAME.FLA & ANISTORY.YOURLASTNAME.SWF
